Citizen Scientist: Fall Fungi at Lowry Nature Center

Sept. 17, Sat., from 1-3 p.m. at Lowry Nature Center, Carver Park Reserve, near Victoria, MN

Learn to identify fall fungi and volunteer to participate in a fungi inventory of Carver Park Reserve. Ron Spinosa, President of the Minnesota Mycological Society, is the program presenter. Co-sponsored by the Minnesota Mycological Society. Ages 16 and up. There is no fee for the program, but reservations are required; please call 763/694-7650.

Carver Park Reserve is located on the west edge of the metro area near Victoria. Access is from Carver County Road 11 (Victoria Drive), which lies south of State Highway 7 and north of State Highway 5. Lowry Nature Center is at 7025 Victoria Drive.

This program is part of a Citizen Scientist series at Lowry Nature Center, which offers monthly programs to educate and train people in a variety of natural resource topics. Please see additional listings at: http://www.threeriversparkdistrict.org The Citizen Scientist programs are on the third Saturday of each month. On the same days we offer public participation in our Bird Banding program, ongoing from 8 a.m. to noon. Observe live song birds up close as they get measured and banded, and help release them. You’re welcome to bring a lunch and attend both programs. (There is no bird banding in Nov. and Dec.)
